Description

Les Peuillets is a sandy parcel which has been known to struggle in slightly warmer years, but not this year. It has bright red cherry and fresh violets, with a good purity of fruit. There is nice gentle grip from the tannins, and a saline finish that leaves you wanting more.

In barrel, for April bottling. 40% new wood. Medium to deep crimson purple. A super sensual bouquet hardly shows the spices. There is more red fruit on the palate, but some darker notes cannot help intruding. As a colleague once remarked, this is Savigny from the Cote de Nuits.
