The pure and delicate Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Gravains comes from what this estate considers to be young vines of 47 years of age. The fine limestone soil here gives the wine a perfumed lift, creamy mid-palate fruit and silken, talc-like tannins that coat the mouth.

Here the brooding nose is distinctly earthy with its array of very cool dark berries, the sauvage and a hint of smoked meat character. There is excellent volume to the rich and intensely mineral-driven flavors that possess fine depth and persistence on the balanced finale.
