The wines of the Loire Valley are already a favourite of many “in-the-know” due to their approachability. For those not yet initiated, they are a real trove of hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered.
This under-the-radar region is home to a diverse range of styles, from age-worthy Sancerre and an enormous variety of quality Chenin Blanc, to beautiful reds like Chinon and up-and-coming Bourgueil. Producers here continue to develop their winemaking prowess, and a warmer climate in recent years has resulted in more ripeness and complexity in the grapes. Today, Loire’s multitude of terroirs are shining brighter than ever, and we’re certain that its reputation only stands to rise further in the years to come.
