2022 Chablis, Vaillons, 1er Cru, Domaine William Fèvre, Burgundy

Description

Fèvre’s 3.5 hectares here average 50 years of age, spread across 10 parcels in Vaillons, Chatains, Roncières and Melinots. In youth, this has plenty of floral character, along with some ripe lemon-curd notes. Broad and creamy with bright acidity, the minerality will come in about five years.

Critics reviews

Andy Howard MW 92/100
Typical Vaillons perfume and freshness. Precise but with good weight and precision. A classy Vaillons which will drink well when young but will also age. Fèvre owns 3.5ha, with 50% in Vaillons, and the rest is spread between Chatains, Roncière, and Melinots. Early harvest here.Drink 2025 - 2030Andy Howard, Decanter.com (October 2023)

Mostly in Vaillons itself, with Chatains, Roncières and Mélinots. Another translucent pale lime colour. The nose is a little lighter than Montmains, very fine, lime and lemon notes throughout, it tastes as though filtered through a bed of tiny stones. Graceful and persistent.Drink 2027 - 2034Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy_com (December 2022)
