Description
Olivier Bernard’s 40th vintage here is commemorated with a special label. The volume of juice was down 25% from the small berries; with thick skins, the extraction had to be done by infusion. Such is its natural intensity that the wine’s aromas unfurl from their densely packed flower bud with minimal coaxing.
This is a vibrant wine in many ways: colour, bouquet and, primarily, the energetic palate, underpinned by sapid graphite notes. Olivier credits its success to the resilience of his vines after decades of ecological work and choosing exactly the right moment to harvest.
Cabernet Sauvignon 63%; Merlot 30%; Petit Verdot 5%; Cabernet Franc 2%
