Description

This remains the most impressive representation of a terroir usually presumed to produce appealing but essentially quite simple wines. It is elevated by Jean-Pierre’s methods – which would normally be considered too labour-intensive at this level. Nearly all the vines are over 100 years old. It has Chorey’s trademark dark cherry but is also composed and expressive, with a silky essence that caresses. The finish is lifted and impressively long.

10% new wood, about to be bottled. A similar rich crimson-purple colour. A savoury and stylish deep red fruit on the nose, with spice behind. A pretty fantastic example of Chorey with life and depth, dark cherry fruit. Excellent tension, I think this will be gorgeous. Long, fine and sensual.
