2022 Meursault, Benjamin Leroux, Burgundy

Description

This wine is from Ben’s own vineyards, covering every aspect of the communes and their elevations, including high up by Bois de Blagny. Raised in 300-litre and 600-litre barrels and half in stainless steel, this has plenty of weight but is not over-generous. The grip is firm, with a veneer of austerity and a lifted perfume at the finish.

On its finings, the village Meursault is blended from lower slope vineyards plus Bois de Blagny just under the forest. Elegant white fruit, a mix of apple and pear, displaying more body weight on the palate.
