2021 Meursault, Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur, Burgundy

Description

The 2021 Meursault Village is a blend of Les Corbins, Les Santenots, and Clos de Cromin, which are normally bottled separately. This year, they are pressed together. It has a clean and perfumed bouquet with white peach, Nashi pear, and light Mirabelle scents. Fine delineation. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite taut with orange rind and pear, perhaps just missing a little sustain on the finish. Otherwise, this is a fine Meursault.

Just 14 barrels of Meursault instead of 60. All plots were blended together in 2021. Mid lemon yellow. A pretty nose with some plum and fresh quince notes, quite perfumed. Spicy finish then pears and peaches, rather exotic. This will be rather enjoyable to drink but is not especially classic.
