Description

This comes from the lieux-dits of Grands Clos and Clos Chareau, the former higher up on limestone soils, the latter lower down with more clay. Such is the demand for whites from the village, top red Chassagne is almost a dying breed. This is a fine example, satisfying in its ruggedness, yet seductive in its summer pudding fruit. Although lighter than recent vintages, this will still need a while to come together.

From Grand Clos and the last bit of Clos Chareau, so 16 ares and 13 ares respectively now, hence a small cuvée. Medium crimson in colour with the most pronounced fruit to date: red berries and roses in full bloom.
