Critics reviews

Neal Martin MW 86-88/100
The 2021 Lacoste-Borie has a light, slightly tertiary bouquet of brambly red fruit, freshly rolled tobacco and a touch of potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins on the entry, moderate weight and a cedar-infused finish. Classic Bordeaux that will need just two or three years in bottle.Drink 2024 - 2034Neal Martin, Vinous.com.com, (May 2022)

The 2021 Lacoste-Borie is a supple, charming wine, bursting with aromas of sweet cherries, berries, licorice and spices. Medium-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with melting tannins and a generous core of fruit, it will drink well on release. It's a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc.William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Apr 2022)

Perfumed and nicely polished second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste with pretty sandalwood, blackberry and currant notes. Some fresh herbs and mocha, too. Nicely framed with fleshy tannins. 56% cabernet sauvignon, 36% merlot and 8% cabernet franc.james_suckling, jamessuckling_com (May 2022)

Juicy but restrained slate-textured tannins holding together blackcurrant and black cherry fruits. This has high acidities that make things are a little abrupt on the finish but this has a ton of Pauillac character, 40hl/h yield (35hl/h yield after selection).Drink 2025 - 2036jane_anson_mw, janeanson_com (May 2022)

About this wine

Pauillac

Pauillac

The aristocrat of the Médoc boasts 75 percent of the region’s First Growths, with Grand Cru Classés representing 84 percent of production. Pauillac's First Growths each have their own unique characteristics: Ch. Lafite Rothschild produces the region’s most aromatically-complex and subtly-flavoured wine, while – with its high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon – Ch. Mouton Rothschild can produce a decadently rich, fleshy and exotic wine.
