Description
Les Vercots is the first Premier Cru you meet, situated on the right as you approach the head of the valley leading to Pernand-Vergelesses. There is a layer of deeper, colder clay here and this gives the wine an edge of solidity. Franck describes this as a vin de connoisseur: a wine for someone prepared to wait for a cuvée which, due to its concentration, can be slow to reveal itself. This has a fun bouquet of sous-bois and humus, and the tannins are firm, endorsing Franck's advice. Drink 2026-2032
