2016 Berry Bros. & Rudd Champagne by Mailly, Grand Cru, Extra Brut

Our Own Selection vintage Champagne is made for us from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Grand Cru vineyards of Mailly. Sitting in the Montagne de Reims, this village is known for making full-bodied and powerful Champagnes. As a vintage Champagne, this wine ages in bottle for over three years on its lees, which adds brioche and pastry flavours alongside the ripe orchard and citrus fruit. A complex and beautifully dry Champagne, this makes a superlative apéritif.

Tasting note

The nose is exotic and energetic. Notes of roasted pear, apricot and baked lemon tartlets make for an elegant palate. The quality of the vineyards shines on the long mineral finish, which is full of personality.
