Description
Benoit & Melanie Tarlant’s amphora Champagne, the Georgian typeface ode to Georgia’s original Amphorae. This exquisite Champagne is 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Meunier, planted in 1987 on the steep limestone slope of the Notre Dame lieux-dits in Celle-les-Condé. Spontaneous fermentation, 10 months on lees in Amphora, before bottling.
It has a pretty nose, earthy spices and a stone fruit profile. The palate is rich, complex, vinous and vibrant. There are some wild herbs, balanced with fine golden crumb and layers of bright, chalky minerality and exotic depth. Disgorged July 2021, 0 dosage. 900 bottles produced.
